Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information the skipperplatform.com website collects, why, how long it is kept, and what your rights are.
It is written in plain language, as the law requires. If a passage seems unclear, write to us.
1. Who is responsible
Skipper Platform is a business name used by Claude Lamoureux, listed in the Québec enterprise register under NEQ 2273936502.

2. What this site collects, and nothing more
When you fill in the contact form, we collect what you write in it:

When you simply browse, our host keeps technical logs containing your IP address, browser type, the page viewed and the time. These logs keep the site running and help detect abuse. We do not consult them to identify you.
Audience measurement and error detection. Two tools help us know whether the site works and whether it is useful:

Vercel Web Analytics sets no cookies. A visitor is distinguished there by a hash computed from the request, which Vercel discards after 24 hours. The statistics we consult are aggregated: they do not allow us to recognize you, or to follow you from one site to another.
Sentry only comes into play when an error occurs. It then records the page concerned, the browser and the IP address, long enough to understand the problem.
This site has no user accounts, no payments and no advertising.
3. Cookies
This site uses one cookie, and it does one thing: remember the language you chose with the FR / EN selector.

This cookie is necessary for the site to work: without it, your language choice would be forgotten at every visit. It does not identify you, does not track your browsing, and is not shared with anyone.
No advertising cookies. No third-party trackers. Our audience measurement and error detection tools set none either — which is why this site shows no cookie consent banner: there is nothing to consent to.
You may refuse or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site will keep working; you will simply have to choose your language at each visit.
4. Why we collect this
Solely to answer your message. Nothing else.
We do not use it to send you unsolicited commercial information, and we will not use it for another purpose without asking you first.
5. What we do not do
- We do not sell your information. Ever, to anyone.
- We do not trade it for a service or an advantage.
- We do not disclose it to anyone other than the technical providers listed in section 6, who act on our behalf and cannot use it for their own purposes.
- We make no automated decisions about you.
- We do not profile you. No technology on this site is used to identify, locate or profile you.
6. Our providers, and where the data goes
Running a website requires technical providers. Here are ours.

Each acts on our behalf and cannot use your information for its own purposes.
Where the data goes. Your information may be processed in the United States or in Canada, depending on the provider and the infrastructure it uses at the time of processing.
Before entrusting information to a provider located outside Québec, we assess the protection it affords and bind ourselves to it by a written agreement, as the law requires.
7. How long we keep it

Periods marked "at most" are maximums set by our providers. The actual period may be shorter depending on the plan in force.
After that, the information is destroyed.
You may ask for it to be destroyed sooner: see section 8.
8. Your rights
Québec law gives you rights over your personal information. To exercise them, write to info@skipperplatform.com.
- Know what information we hold about you, and obtain a copy.
- Have corrected information that is inaccurate, incomplete or ambiguous.
- Withdraw your consent at any time.
- Ask for destruction of your information, or that we stop disseminating it.
- Receive your information in a structured, commonly used technological format, so you can take it elsewhere.
- Complain to the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec if our answer does not satisfy you.
Our response time: 30 days from receipt of your request. That is the time the law allows us, and we aim for less.
We may ask you to confirm your identity before answering — so that we do not hand your information to someone else.
9. How we protect it
- The site is served over HTTPS: what travels between your browser and us is encrypted.
- The form is protected against automated submissions.
- Access to received messages is limited to the people who must answer them.
- We keep no copy of messages on the website's server.
No measure is perfect. Should a confidentiality incident presenting a risk of serious injury occur, we would notify the people concerned and the Commission d'accès à l'information, as the law requires, and record it in our incident register.
10. Children
This site is not intended for children and asks them for nothing. The contact form is addressed to people who run or administer a club.
If you believe a child has sent us information through this form, write to us and we will destroy it.
The portal used by clubs does contain information about minor athletes. It is governed by its own policy, separate from this one.
11. Links to other sites
This site may contain links to sites we do not operate. We are not responsible for their content or their practices. Read their policy before entrusting them with anything.
12. Changes
We may change this policy. The effective date at the top of the page indicates the current version.
If a change materially alters what we do with your information, we will inform the people concerned by a reasonable means rather than relying on them coming back to read this page.
